PRE-ORDER — A little anticipation is part of the process.
These candles haven’t been poured yet. Your order is a pre-order: the candles will be made in a future production batch, then shipped once they’re ready. They are not in stock for immediate shipment. Thank you for giving small-batch making the time it deserves — and for supporting Stack Up while you wait.
Vigil (noun) /ˈvijəl/ —
A quiet watch. The act of keeping a light on for someone.
Staying a little longer because “you don’t have to sit here with me” was never really the point.
Sniff test: Amber, well-worn wood, and someone who has already put the kettle back on.
Scent Notes (Annotated)
Warm Amber: The welcome, before anyone says a word.
Salt-Bleached Driftwood & Creamy Sandalwood: Weathered edges. Exceptionally good company.
Sweet Pipe Tobacco & Vanilla: A soft finish with no intention of rushing you out.
The Entry
Vigil is for the kind of company that doesn’t need entertaining. The friend who stays after the dishes are done. The conversation that takes its time. The light left on because someone hasn’t made it home yet. Not everything useful needs to be said out loud.
Amber and driftwood give it warmth and a little weather; creamy sandalwood rounds the corners. Sweet pipe tobacco and vanilla linger underneath, making the whole thing feel familiar without smelling like somewhere you’ve already been. Steady, woody, and perfectly content to let somebody else do the talking.
Recommended setting: Long evenings, low voices, or the chair people somehow always end up in.
Pairs well with: A well-used blanket, another chapter, and “stay as long as you need.”
MINGLES well with: Vigil burns beautifully by itself and MINGLES nicely with Reveille, Armistice, or both. Reveille adds a bright, spiced lift; Armistice threads cool woodland air through the warmth. Give them their own places in the room — nobody needs to compete for the same corner.
Gifting
Best for: The steady one. The check-in friend. The person whose presence counts as practical assistance.
Occasions: Meaningful thank-yous, long-distance friendships, housewarmings, and “thinking of you” without the speech.
A little light. A shared purpose.

Care + the boring but reassuring part
-
Trim each wick to 1/4" before each burn.
-
Allow an even melt pool to help prevent tunneling; follow the burn-time guidance on your candle’s care label.
-
Burn on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from drafts, children, pets, and anything flammable.
-
Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep burning candles at least 3" apart.
-
Stop use when 1/2" of wax remains.
Available in 8 oz (single wick) and 14 oz (three wicks). Hand-poured with coconut and paraffin wax, with navy marbling through white, in small batches — each one a one-off specimen.
